Signs it may be time
- Substance use or mental health symptoms are getting worse, not better
- Your loved one denies the problem, or agrees to get help and never follows through
- There have been overdoses, hospital visits, arrests or other close calls
- Family members are covering, paying or lying to keep things from falling apart
- You are afraid of what happens if nothing changes
What an interventionist does
An interventionist is a trained professional who prepares the family, leads the conversation, and keeps it from turning into another fight. They also handle the logistics most families do not think about until the moment arrives: which program, whether a bed is ready, and how your loved one gets there today.
Our intervention process
- Consultation. A confidential call about your loved one's history, your family, and what you have already tried.
- Treatment planning. We help you line up a program and confirm admission before the intervention, so a yes can be acted on immediately.
- Family preparation. We meet with everyone taking part, decide who should be in the room, and help each person prepare what they will say.
- The intervention. The interventionist leads. The tone is honest and caring, never an ambush meant to shame.
- Transport to treatment. When your loved one agrees, our team travels with them straight to the program.
- Family follow-up. We help the family set boundaries and plan for what comes next.
Interventions we provide
Alcohol and drug use, mental health conditions, co-occurring disorders, and adolescents or young adults in crisis.
What if they say no?
No interventionist can promise a yes. Many people agree on the day. Some agree days or weeks later, once the family holds the boundaries it set. We prepare you for both, and we stay involved either way.
Intervention and transport from one team
Most interventionists hand the family off once the person agrees. We keep going. The same organization that led the conversation gets your loved one safely to admission through substance abuse transport, psychiatric transport or adolescent transport.
