About National Treatment Transport

National Treatment Transport exists for one moment in a family's life: the gap between knowing a loved one needs help and getting them through the door. We are dedicated to supporting people who are struggling, and the families beside them.

Our story

The team at National Treatment Transport have struggled with many of the same issues as our clients before finding recovery. This allows us to connect with our clients on a deeper level than other transport agencies.

We approach every transport from a de-escalation standpoint and treat each client with the respect they deserve. Our goal is for every transport to become a positive therapeutic experience that aids the person on their own path to recovery, rather than another obstacle. We aim to connect and relate to each client through our own stories, rather than intimidate or punish.

Our mission and philosophy

We want families and their loved ones to get the help they need and deserve, and we facilitate the vital first intervention and passage into treatment and recovery. We are certified in trauma-informed care, CRT (our company's de-escalation and safe-hold training), defensive driving, CPR, AED and first aid.

Working from a de-escalation standpoint means we use verbal interventions and aim to connect before we give a client any directive. When we arrive, we immediately begin building rapport. Recovery is an intensely personal journey, and this is where we relate to struggling teens and young adults most profoundly. We are the professional intermediary between mental health and addiction professionals, treatment centers and families. We never use intimidation tactics, and we never rely solely on physical interventions.

What families say

To anyone out there, any parent, sibling, grandparent, loved one: after weeks of research and not knowing what the best program was, or how to get my son physically there, I was fortunate to be referred to National Treatment Transport. Late on a Friday night, Charles spent so much time with me, sharing his personal experience and explaining how his company safely transports people to a place where they can heal. All of it was done within 24 hours over a weekend. Within 48 hours the team were on a plane to my city. As I waited in my other child's room I could hear their voices speaking with my son, delicate, calm and patient. They never used any force, there was no disruption to my household, and no one was traumatized or scared. I received text messages the entire 13-hour journey across the country. Charles and his team are true professionals with integrity and care. I am forever indebted to this team.

From a mother

We needed Charlie and his team on the worst day of our lives. We did not anticipate that our child would be so terrified, and that we would not be able to take our child to treatment ourselves. From the moment we spoke with Charlie, I felt like things were going to be ok. In an unimaginably short amount of time he assembled THE team. They walked in our house, and their presence, sweet smiles and kind demeanor assured all of us that things were going to be ok. They gave us updates along the way, handled an unexpected hiccup at the airport with grace, and got our precious kiddo to treatment with a smile on our child's face. These are the people you want. We would trust them again and again.

From a dad

Starting off this year knowing my grandson was safe was the best gift I could give my family. He went from experimenting in early spring to full-blown addiction by late fall, and this city kid had never been on a plane. National Treatment Transport was recommended by the facility director, and I reached out at about 11 pm by email after reading parent testimonials. The following morning I was called as promised and we discussed every detail for over an hour. Two days later our child was awakened, carefully communicated with, able to dress and depart. We had text communication at every stop and every shift in plan. This was literally one of the happiest days of recent years. Would I do this the same way again? You bet. We are already talking with them about sober companionship for the next stage.

Donna, a grandmother

My daughter needed transport from an acute hospital to a mental health program. She was resistant to treatment and has a strong flight response when she feels threatened, so there was no way I could get her there on my own. My concerns were taken seriously and her transport was built around them. They did everything they could to make it feel like she was being cared for and taken to treatment by family. That she did not feel threatened, from the very beginning to the very end, speaks strongly of everyone involved. The team who drove my child for 17 hours were a critical part of her healing beginning. A simple thank you will never be enough.

From a mother

It is with grateful hearts that we send this thank you. We appreciate all the time David spent with us by phone. All the information he gave is exactly how it went; he was true to his word, communicated with compassion and genuinely listened. Taylor and Anthony were respectful, organized, professional and compassionate. Their teamwork was seamless, firm and kind, and they brought safety and security for everyone involved, especially our son.

From a mother and dad

I had visions of a "goon squad" sweeping my son away in the middle of the night and traumatizing him further. NTT was the polar opposite of that. Every interaction was professional, reassuring and focused on my son's needs, and David took the time to address every concern. The team who came to my house were perfection: intimidating looking, but so kind and gentle with my son that he went with them willingly, even shaking their hands. They kept me updated the entire drive and stayed with him through a long wait at the facility. This company begins the healing process before your child ever gets to the facility. On a five-star scale, I give them a 10.
