Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What is treatment transport?

A professional team travels with a person from where they are to the treatment program that has accepted them, and stays with them until they are admitted. We plan the trip with you, book the travel, and keep you informed from pickup to arrival.

How much does a transport cost?

Cost depends on distance, travel method, team size and timing. Generally there is a transport fee based on time and distance, plus expenses such as flights, fuel, a rental car and meals. You receive a full quote before you commit.

How much time do we need to plan a transport?

We can work as quickly as the situation requires. We can be with you the same day you call, or plan a transport a month or more in advance. Program-to-program moves are planned the same way.

Is adolescent transport legal?

Parents and legal guardians have the authority to make treatment decisions for a minor child. A parent or guardian signs written authorization before any transport.

Can you transport an adult who does not want to go?

Adults decide about their own care. We transport adults who have agreed to go, even reluctantly, and we help families hold the boundaries that keep that agreement in place. If your loved one is refusing, start with our intervention services.

What happens on pickup day?

Our team arrives at the agreed time, usually early in the morning, introduces themselves, explains honestly what is happening and where your loved one is going, and travels with them to the program. You hear from us at every stop and the moment they arrive.

Will you lie to my child about where they are going?

No. We tell every client where they are going. Honest communication is one of our standards on every transport, and it is part of why the trip can become the first positive step of treatment rather than another obstacle.

Do you use restraints?

We work from a de-escalation standpoint: verbal intervention and rapport come first, and we never use intimidation tactics. Our agents are certified in CRT, our de-escalation and safe-hold training; a safe hold is a last resort for someone's safety, never a routine.

Who will be with my loved one?

Multiple trained agents on every transport: certified interventionists, recovery coaches and, when the medical situation calls for it, EMTs. Many of our agents have been through treatment and recovery themselves. Meet the team.

Where do you go?

Anywhere in the United States, by ground or commercial air.

Do you provide emergency medical transport?

No. We transport people who are medically stable enough for non-ambulance travel. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
